E-Glass/phenolic matrix/APP laminate as a potential candidate for battery casing of e-vehicle - experimental investigations

Abstract The prime purpose of the current research is to investigate influence Intumescent flame retardant (IFR)-Ammonium polyphosphate (APP) on mechanical properties Phenolic resin/E-Glass hybrid configurations and suitability configuration for battery casing in E-vehicle. Varying weight fractions viz. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 wt% APP were used fabricate -Phenolic resin/E-Glass/APP polymer composites. Tensile, flexural, low velocity impact, quasi static indentation tests conducted analyzed. Among developed 6 filled laminate shows better tensile flexural than other configurations. It understood from Izod impact test, falling test that have more energy absorption. has high deformation elastic phase plastic phase. Morphology fracture mechanism laminates are also presented discussed. concluded investigations E-Glass/Phenolic matrix/APP found as a potential candidate casings
